Answer: Keyboard shortcuts are available to save time from moving your hand from the keyboard to the mouse. Here are some of the more common software comand shortcuts:

Software key commands
Shift + Arrow KeyStart the highlighting process, can substitute an arrow key for Home, End, Page Up, or Page Down to highlight larger groups of text easier.
Ctrl + CCopy highlighted text to the clipboard.
Ctrl + XCut highlighted text to the clipboard, this will look like it was deleted, rest assured it was not.
Ctrl + EscOpens the Start menu.
Ctrl + VPaste the text that was recently cut or copied to the clipboard.
Ctrl + ZUndo the last thing you did, may work repeatedly to fix several mistakes made
Ctrl + ASelect All.
Ctrl + BSwitch to Bold font.
Ctrl + USwitch to Underline font.
Ctrl + ISwitch to Italic font.
Ctrl + NOpen new window.
