First Weekend Of December Events
Many events are planned in the Mother Lode for the last month of 2015, this weekend several events are for kids and those who are young at heart.
First thing Friday morning wake up bright and early and join us in raising money in our On-Air Cash Drive for Interfaith. Until noon, anyone can call in and even challenge other businesses and neighbors to help out with this cause, all the details are here.
Tomorrow evening will be the Winter Wonderland Parade in Twain Harte. All the festivities and the parade route are detailed in the KVML Newsmaker of the day interview story here.
Columbia College Community Chorus will perform at a Holiday Concert on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Details on the times and more are in the event listing.
The Tuolumne County Arts Alliance’s 2016 InFocus Photography Competition and March Exhibition will begin taking entries on December 4 through January 29. Find all the details here.
On Saturday enjoy the Sierra Waldorf School Elves’ Faire at the Waldorf school. The Faire is free to attend and will feature live music, homemade soups, activities like creating a holiday wreath, dipping a candle, a cake walk, children’s gift workshop, and a puppet show. Saturday afternoon catch Santa landing in a helicopter at the Standard Ball Park. The annual event will conclude the Clarke Broadcasting Cash Drive for Interfaith and wrap up our coat drive as well. Details are here.
Another event for kids on Saturday is the Elks Hoop Shoot at the Sonora High School Bud Castle Gym. It is free to watch and throws can be made by children ages 8 to 13. The event listing is here.
Also Saturday is the Tea, Boutique and Basket Drawing put on by the AAUW at the Faith Hall at Church of the 49ers in Columbia. The event also involves a tour of four decorated homes in Sonora and Columbia. Details are here.
