Fourth Wall Entertainment is delighted to present their holiday production of “A Christmas Story,” opening Friday, November 25 at the Metropolitan in San Andreas, CA.

A live stage adaptation of the classic Christmas film, humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself at Higbee’s Department Store. The consistent response: “You’ll shoot your eye out!” All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family’s temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys’ experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie’s father winning a lamp shaped like a woman’s leg in a net stocking; Ralphie’s fantasy scenarios and more.

“We are proud to bring this beloved story to life on stage in San Andreas,” said director Missie Maury. “The cast and crew have worked hard to make this story come alive, and we are so excited to share in the Christmas spirit with our community.”

Young Ralphie is played by Emmaline Turnbeaugh, with Older Ralphie, who narrates the action, played by Joseph Slankard. Steve Baum and Lauren Silva Ramirez play Ralphie’s increasingly frazzled parents, and the family is completed by Renly Ramirez as little brother Randy. Emma Hampton and Alexander Hawkins are featured as schoolmarm Miss Shields and fearsome school bully Scut Farkas, and the ensemble is completed by Grace Belders, Emmett Downs, Keifer Minehart, Scarlett Pinkston, and Samantha Urrutia.

Costume design is by Cyndie Klorer, who shares set design and construction credit with John Turnbeaugh. Maddie Merrill is the apprentice stage manager, with Scarlet Baum as lightboard operator.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm (no performance on Saturday, December 3) and Sundays at 2:00 pm, from November 25 to December 18, 2022. General admission tickets are $15, with children and senior tickets available for $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to each performance, or online at https://bit.ly/3Mw0aw7. Reservations can also be made by calling 209-754-5555.

Wine, beer, soft drinks and the Metropolitan’s signature charcuterie boards will be available for purchase at each performance, and Ovaltine and f-f-fudge will complement the menu in the Christmas Story spirit.
