Local Artist, Patrick Michael Karnahan will be the guest speaker at the January 9th program beginning at 7PM at the Library. It is open to the public. Karnahan will have a selection of his paintings on display and his latest book published by the Tuolumne County Historical Society titled “Train Fire” will be available. He was the featured artist in the previous society’s book “Glory of the Sierra” which contains twenty-one of his Sierra Railroad paintings. What makes “Train Fire” so unique are the twelve forest fire paintings depicting a variety of firefighting aircraft in action. The original of one of the paintings, “The Rim Fire” is hanging in the US Forest Service Office in Washington D.C.
Come out to support the Historical Society’s program nights! These events are for members and the community to enjoy.
