Following its monthly meeting on Saturday, May 4, which runs from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., the Mother Lode Bonsai Club will conduct a hands-on workshop at the San Andreas Central Library, 1299 Gold Hunter Road (off Mountain Ranch Road) in San Andreas.
Club members and the general public are invited to bring their bonsai trees, including nursery stock, for the free workshop. Repotting, styling and pruning ideas will be suggested by club mentors. Participants are encouraged to bring their tools, table covering and soil mix if available.
Mother Lode Bonsai Club members come from Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties, as well as the central valley. Everyone is invited to attend regardless of levels of experience. For more information, contact Richard McKinstry at (209) 288-2330 or go online to www.motherlodebonsai.org.
