Looking for a little Cajun Style of Music? then check out the Blues Box Bayou Band
“What an incredible journey it’s been! From the humblest beginnings at Wilma’s Flying Pig blues bar on Washington Street, Sonora, The BluesBox Bayou Band has been on the road to festivals, wineries and dance venues, all over the region for over twenty years!
Performing in the Louisiana Cajun Zydeco traditions, they have performed their unique style of music up and down the west coast, from the Oregon to Southern Cal and as far as Austin, Texas. They have recorded over five studio CDs with a new full release on the way! The BluesBox Bayou Band is about making music for dancing feet. No pretenses, no big hair, no pants-on-fire… just a down home, two-step approach to making good music, and we all know Sonora loves music!
The BluesBox is composed of Pete Grimaldi – vocals and accordion, Julie Johnson – bass guitar, Frank Grimaldi – lead guitars, Debi Krilanovich – rub board, and drummers – Jim Anderson (pictured) and Peter DeMattos”
