Murphy’s Creek Theatre Presents: Let There Be Love | Mar. 24 – Apr. 15
A bittersweet Valentine to living (and dying) on your own terms, and to the outsider inside all of us, eternally standing at the door, waiting to be welcomed home. 💕
Murphys Creek Theatre welcomes Dwight Mahabir back to its stage with an incredible script by British playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah.
When misanthropic West Indian Alfred Morris is kicked out of his daughter’s Croydon house, he returns to his Willesden home to find he’s been gifted a caretaker, Maria. Having alienated friends and family, he seems happy to live out his illness-ridden days in the solitude of his West London house. Maria, a struggling but determined Polish immigrant, will have none of it, and the cantankerous and xenophobic Alfred realizes that he may indeed still have a role in life.
Somewhere among the soulful lyrics of Nat King Cole and the mutual struggle of making a life in a foreign city, these flawed humans will find a path to solace from their haunting past.
Come see this magnificent work of art and see what MCT’s newest season has in store for you!
Written by Kwame Kwei-Armah
Directed by Todd Thomas
