Do you remember Hootenannies! Folks at the Presbyterian Church of the 49ers in Columbia are hosting a community sing-along of favorite songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and we’re calling it a Hootenanny. The Hootenanny will be held inside air-conditioned Faith Hall on Sunday afternoon, June 3rd, beginning at 12:30 pm. This is our second time to invite Alex Kash, a local singer and master of the 12-string guitar and harmonica, to perform some of his vast repertoire of popular songs from the mid-century, while the audience gets to sing along. It will include favorites by Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, Elvis Presley, and many others. You may sit back and just enjoy the live music, but we hope you’ll join in! Words to the songs will be projected onto a screen, so you don’t even have to try to recall them. Popcorn and other snacks available. There is no admission charge, however a free will offering will be taken to offset expenses. Call 532-6604 for more information.
