Hairspray- 1988. Staring Sonny Bono, Ruth Brown, Divine, Debbie Harry, Ricki Lake, Tracy Turnblad, Jerry Stiller. This is an interactive movie experience. “You may have seen this movie but not like this! Get your Flix on and come dressed the part.” Costume contest, first 50 people get a goodie bag, free popcorn and no-host bar. $5 admission. Sonora Opera Hall, 250 S. Washington Street. Doors open at 6:30 and the movie begins at 7:00. Bring a chair or use one of ours. Synopsis: A ‘pleasantly plump’ teenager teaches 1962 Baltimore a thing or two about integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show. Children encouraged at this event!
