Please join VFW Post 4748 for the groundbreaking ceremony of the 9/11 & War on Terrorism Memorial.
The memorial is intended to add to the tradition of honoring veterans at the hall, specifically for the most recent generation. The memorial will feature a brick walkway leading to an elevated platform with a flagpole and three stone plaques honoring those who died in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Sept. 11 attacks. The memorial will also be available to be used by the public for events such as weddings, concerts, and community gathering and would be wired for lighting, sound, and security. The projected completion date is Fall of 2019.
All members of the community are welcome. We will also have 140 personalized bricks and paving stones laid out so patrons can see theirs. Those who wish to purchase a brick or paving tile to honor a loved one will be able to order one to place into the walkway at the event.
