Run for a good cause! Luc’s Run is a family-friendly run/walk that features a 10k, 2-mile and Kid’s Run (ages 10 & under) in Tuolumne. Not a runner? Come walk one of the courses! There is also a virtual half marathon, 10k and 2-miler. The Kid’s Run starts at 8:00 am and the 10k and 2-mile races start at 8:30 am at Tuolumne Veteran’s Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 18th, 2024. Packet Pickup is best on Friday, May 17th at Tuolumne Veteran’s Memorial Hall from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Packet Pickup is also available before the race.

This year’s event includes chip timing system for rock-solid timing results. And there are no time limits on the course. Both courses are best described as “rolling” with a few moderately steep, but short hills. Walkers and runners are equally welcome at this event! Each participant will receive a Race Shirt and an official Finisher’s Medal. Overall awards and age-group awards will be presented after each event. All proceeds from this race go to the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation, an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The purpose of the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation is to bestow scholarships to Americans for the advancement of educational goals and self-development.

ABOUT THE MAJOR LUCAS GRUENTHER LEGACY FOUNDATION:

On January 28, 2013, Luc, a United States Air Force pilot was on a training mission over the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Italy. During the sortie, Luc was forced to eject from his F-16 and did not survive the ejection. Luc is survived by family and friends who continue his Legacy through the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation.

Major Lucas Gruenther was an incredible human being. He was an outstanding F-16 fighter pilot, community role model, and a true humanitarian. He lived his life to the fullest and never took a single day for granted. Luc is remembered for the way he treated people with wisdom and kindness and was a genuine human being who made a tremendous positive impact.
