Writers Invited to Tuolumne
The Outdoor Writers Association of California (OWAC) Fall Conference was held in Mammoth in mid-September.
The Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau (TCVB) has a long-standing relationship with OWAC and has hosted two of their conferences in the past, both of which have garnered Tuolumne County great media exposure.
The writers cover all things outdoors from hunting and fishing to rock climbing and mountain biking.
Lisa Mayo, Director of Sales and Marketing for the TCVB, also has a long-standing relationship with OWAC and attended the recent Fall conference.
By attending the conference, the TCVB gets the opportunity to network with the writers and update them on what is new in their area. Many of the writers are familiar with Tuolumne County, but they may be looking for a new spin. For example, they might know about all the great attractions, but which ones can you take your dog to?
Lisa reconnected with several of the writers including long-time San Francisco Chronicle writer, Tom Stienstra. The TCVB will be hosting the Fall 2013 OWAC Conference and is already working on the details to ensure the writers see the best of what Tuolumne County has to offer!
