SHS cuts IT for a Good Cause

Sonora High is cutting its IT department; actually just their hair. SHS senior Sean Leamy is holding a Cut-a-Thon benefiting Wigs for Kids, a non profit that provides real hair wigs free of charge for children with hair loss. Members of the IT department, known for their long hair, have committed to donating hair to this great cause. Members of the public are invited to donate at least 12 inches of untreated hair at the event. The Sonora High Cosmetology program will provide complementary cuts to individuals donating from 7:30 to 9:00 am on Wednesday April 17th in the mall in front of the Sonora High Library. In addition to hair donations, Sean is trying to raise the $1800 needed to make one custom hair piece for a child in need. Sean and his father, Technology Systems Specialist Matthew Leamy, will be increasing the amount of hair they donate proportionally to the money raised up to 18 inches for the full $1800 goal. Monetary donations may be made at the event or online at http://bit.ly/SHScutsIT_Donate . More information can be found at http://SHScutsIT.info or https://facebook.com/SHScutsIT
