Update: Power Outage In Pinecrest Area
Update at 1:55 p.m.: PG&E reports the lights are back on for 62 customers in the Pinecrest area of Tuolumne County after crews had to cut off the power for safety reasons. The outage happened just after 9 a.m. and was on both sides of Pinecrest Lake, along the west shoreline, and in the Dodge Ridge Road area. The utility called it an unplanned outage involving a crew shutting off power to make an urgent repair safely.
The utility did not provide any further details about the safety issue. We emailed PG&E regarding the cause and are awaiting a response. The company had estimated that the power would be turned back on around 5:15 p.m. The light came back on around 1 p.m.
