There are several big annual Mother Lode events this weekend.
Starting in Sonora the At the Mother Lode Fair Grounds, the Exotic Bird and Animal Expo

Over in Jamestown Railtown 1897 is offering many train rides over Labor Day Weekend from 11am to 3pm.
Up in Twain Harte the “Film Fest Twain Harte” has its premier with celebrities and speakers including G. Allen Johnson, San Francisco Chronicle Film Critic. For all the details view the event listing.
In Calaveras, Arnold will celebrate the 40th Annual Cedar Center Arts & Crafts Festival.
Arnold’s end-of-summer celebration is sponsored by the Ebbett’s Pass Volunteer Fire Department. They will be serving local Calaveras County brews along with 60+ booths, and music. The Ebbett’s Pass Lion’s Club serves an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 11:00am. More details about the event are listed here.
Also in Arnold the 17th Annual Logging Jamboree is from 9am-5pm at the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum. The event features a full day of logging competition, both amateur and professional. More details are here.
On Labor Day a concert will be held at Murphys Park starting at 6:30pm. Bring a picnic dinner or the Hut will be open and the Murphys Community Club will sell hot dogs and beverages. The event listing is here.
