There are a few shooting ranges in Tuolumne and Calaveras but they are private clubs. If you are invited by a member or sign up for a class here is some information on each of them.

Mother Lode Gun Club

19185 Jamestown Rd. Jamestown, CA 95327

Established in 1939, this private club offers many shooting activities include archery, big bore rifle, black powder, cowboy, trap, action pistol, and high-power rifle matches to its 850 members. The self imposed membership limit is currently at maximum capacity and there is a waiting list for new members. They also offer a Junior rifle program which teaches firearms safety to any child between 9 and 18. Some organized events and activities, such as trap shoots, high-power matches, cowboy shoots, etc., are open to the public. All other club usage is reserved for members and their guest only.

Outdoor Ranges – 8:00 AM to Sunset
Indoor Range – 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM

A Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Range is located off Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia.

Keystone Range, Off Highway 108/120 is a Rifel Range which consists of three live-fire
small arms ranges totalling 3.2 acres, a helicopter landing pad, and a 189 acre maneuver and training area utilized by the California Army National Guard (CAARNG) since
1953 and utilized by both local law enforcement and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Sonora Smokepolers

North-South Skirmish Association Range, Six Bit Gulch Road, Red Hills

Established in 1972 as a club is for people interested in shooting back powder guns. Their membership has increased to about 53 families who seek to preserve the history and lifestyle of the trapper and mountain man, such as making and wearing period correct clothing, throwing a tomahawk and knife, and building a fire with flint and steel.
They have a monthly club shoot and an annual spring gathering.

Pine Mountain Lake Gun Club

Unit 14, Pine Mountain Lake

The Pine Mountain Lake Shooting Club is a private club was established to help Pine Mountain Lake Association reestablish a shooting range within Pine Mountain Lake Property, to provide a recreational association of members of Pine Mountain Lake Association who have a common interest in shooting sports, to provide a safe environment for shooting and shooting practice as a safe haven for establishing and maintaining self defense skills, and to support a shooting sport amenity.

The range is may be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM restrictions apply.

Angels Gun Club

2043 Gun Club Road, Angels Camp, CA 95222

The Angels Gun Club (AGC) promotes the safe handling of firearms and advocate the proper
fundamentals of shotgun, rifle and pistol shooting marksmanship. The AGC is guided by the founding spirit of the Club’s founding Members and advocated the ideals of patriotism and being good stewards of the community. The Club also provides California Youth Shooting Sports Association (CYSSA) Clay Target Programs to teach youth, 18 and under, gun safety and skill development in clay target shooting.
