What are the limitations to living with a pacemaker?

Modern pacemakers are safe around microwaves or other household appliances. Newer generation pacemakers can even go inside MRI scanners.  There can be occasional interference from other medical devices or from very strong electromagnetic fields if patients work in those environments, such as high voltage electrical vaults. In general, people can go about their daily life with any of the implanted devices.
