Salt Springs Valley Reservoir
There are two Salt Springs Reservoirs in the Mother Lode. One is high in the mountains in the El Dorado National Forest in eastern Amador County and the other is in the lower foothills of Calaveras County near Copperopolis. The higher one is at an elevation of 3,900 feet. The reservoir is formed by Salt Springs Dam on the North Fork of the Mokelumne River. The other Salt Springs Valley Reservoir is at 1076 feet and is a privately owned campground and reservoir. Summer recreation includes Jet skiing.
(lower) Salt Springs Reservoir offers 24 campsites and is great for group camping. There is a store and a launch ramp available. Sites are available first come first serve for $20. The R.V Park has 30 spots that are rented on a monthly bases.For more information, call Debi Nunes at 209 785-7787
(lower) Salt Springs Reservoir is a beautiful small lake where Largemouth Bass have been caught weighing over 12 pounds. Many local Bass fish club tournaments are held at Salt Springs. It may take time to locate the fish but then the fun begins. All bass are catch and release.
All other species may be taken according to Department of Fish & Game laws. All boats must be off the water before dark.
