Caltrans Signals More Work Plans This Week

Sonora, CA – More ten-minute or more traffic waits are in store this week that earlier thought, according to Caltrans officials.

Five new cone zones are now on this week’s already busy roster, as reported here. Among the longer waits, a one-week, 24-hour-a-day closure of eastbound Highway 108 between Soulsbyville Road and Confidence Road for drainage work, will have crews working in both lanes. Officials note that when there is a lane closed at night, a flagger will be present to provide an early warning for motorists traveling east.

In addition to the work already slated this week, motorists should anticipate and plan for the following…

— Along Highway 4, today through Friday, drainage work between Lower Moran Road and Rancho Paradiso from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

— On Highway 26, Wednesday only, utility work between Jojoba Lane and Alabama Hill from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

— On Highway 108/49, today through Friday, shoulder work between Highway 120/Chinese Camp and the Tuolumne/Calaveras county line from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. This work zone may bring 15-minute travel delays.

— On Highway 108/49, today through Friday, shoulder work between Highway 120/Yosemite Junction and Hidden Acres Road from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

— Also on Highway 49 overnight striping, tonight through Friday morning, between Pesce Way and the Tuolumne-Calaveras county line; hours from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
