Amador County, CA – The Mayor of Stockton Anthony Silva was arrested on several charges including a felony for eavesdropping and a misdemeanor for giving alcohol to minors.

The 42-year-old was taken into custody at his annual summer youth camp he runs in Amador County. His attorney, Mark Reichel, confirms that Silva faces four charges, among them, eavesdropping, contributing to the delinquency or a minor, providing alcohol to a minor and cruelty to a child by endangering health. Reichel indicates his client, who remains behind bars, will plead not guilty to the charges. Documents filed by the Amador County District Attorney with the county’s superior court state that six minors were involved in the alcohol related charges.

Of note, Reichel was also the defense attorney for Isaiah Fowler who was found guilty of stabbing his 8-year-old sister Leila Fowler inside their Valley Springs area home on April 27, 2013.

Thursday’s charges came just a week after reports surfaced that a gun stolen from Silva’s home during a burglary was linked to the slaying of a 13-year-old boy in Stockton last year, which Reichel counters Silva had nothing to do with the killing and was simply the victim of a crime when his gun was taken.
