Busiest Independence Day Travel Weekend In 14 Years Anticipated

Sponsored by:

AAA is predicting that this will be the busiest Independence Day travel weekend in California since 2002.

4.9 million Californians are anticipated to travel over 50 miles. The 1.2% projected increase in travel compared to last year is being attributed to an improving economy, lower gas prices, and the 4th of July holiday falling on a Monday. Nationally, over 43 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more, which would be an increase of 1.3% compared to a year ago.

The gas price section shows that regular unleaded fuel is selling in Sonora from $2.59 to $2.69 and in San Andreas the price ranges from $2.66 to $2.71.
