Sonora, CA — As the temperatures warm this weekend folks fixing to head to one of the county’s four public pools will have to amend their plans.
On Friday afternoon, Tuolumne County Parks and Rec officials reported that continuing issues with water clarity at Tuolumne Pool have made it necessary to further delay its opening until next week.
Originally the pool was to have opened this past Tuesday but due to water quality problems officials pushed the date to Thursday. As reported here, the matter remained unresolved, necessitating a second rescheduling, which set the official opening to Saturday. Since it will not be open the aquatics fitness and recreation swim programs planned for that day have been cancelled. However, the pool at Columbia Elementary will be open Saturday, as scheduled.
Park and Rec officials anticipate Tuolumne Pool will open Tuesday, June 21. Under the current schedule the pools at Sonora High and in downtown Twain Harte are open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons; Columbia and Tuolumne on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons.
