Expedited Housing For Butte Fire Homeless

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — The Governor has issued an executive calling for faster placement for those who lost their homes in the flames

On Saturday, Governor Jerry Brown announced the order will further expedite recovery efforts for the placement and processing of temporary housing for those displaced by the Butte and Valley fires — two of the most destructive fires in California history.  The order enacts the Mobliehome Parks Act allowing for the use of mobile homes, manufactured homes, and recreational vehicles. It includes waiving health code registration fees on those homes for three years for impacted residents in Calaveras and Lake counties.

The Governor already proclaimed States of Emergency in those counties, due to destruction from the flames in September. Additionally, later that same month, as previously reported, President Barack Obama declared a major disaster triggering the release of federal disaster to aid victims of both fires.
