New Details On Stolen Ammunition Arrests

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – Sonora Police Department is releasing new information on what led to the arrest of five suspects involved in the burglary of its ammunitions storage shed in November of last year.

Police report that a crime tip called in from The Sportsman store in Sonora allowed officers to arrest 31-year-old Aaron Jess of Sonora. Police say a confession from Jess brought officers to a home on the 500 block of Sonora Avenue in Sonora, where a search turned up some of the stolen goods. As previously reported, once inside the home, officers discovered loaded firearms and a large amount of the stolen ammunition, along with the four other burglary suspects, who were also arrested.

This week, the Sonora Police Officer’s Association awarded the store and employee Steve Kane with a plaque in recognition of his assistance and cooperation, which allowed police to solve this “high dollar burglary case.”
