Twain Harte, CA — Ahead of the 2026 election cycle, local Tuolumne County Democrats held the party’s signature fundraiser on Saturday evening.

An Evening in the Pines at Eproson Park in Twain Harte drew around 100 people. The night included speeches, food, and live music. There was an emphasis on rallying around local candidates and issues.

The Democrats held their fundraiser two weeks after the Tuolumne County Republicans held their largest fundraiser, the Reagan Dinner, as reported earlier here.

Saturday’s keynote address was delivered by Andrea Victoria-Lisbon of Stand Up, Speak Up, Speak Out. Click here to view a short portion of her speech.

One of the Democrats running against Congressman Tom McClintock was on hand, Michael Masuda. Click here to view party leader Mat Galvan introducing him. Masuda argued that he would be a stronger voice representing the region than Congressman McClintock.

During the event, there was a focus on the need for local fundraising and on having rural voices heard.

In light of recent political violence across the country, there was a notable law enforcement presence at the park, outside the fundraiser. Tuolumne County Democrats had coordinated with the sheriff’s office ahead of the event. There were no protestors on hand.

At one point, Galvan referenced the recent death of Charlie Kirk, stating, “I don’t have to agree with a word the man said to say that political violence has no place here,” to which he received applause from those on hand. Adding, “I think that we all know that in Tuolumne County. We don’t condemn that (political violence) with asterisks, we condemn that full stop.”

Senate candidate Jaron Brandon was also a scheduled speaker, but had a late conflict that prevented him from attending.
