The Governor´s Office of Emergency Services has launched a toll-free number offering anthrax-related information to Californians. The line provides recorded information and referrals regarding
personal and family preparedness, and actions to take after possible or real exposure to anthrax. It also offers tips on what to do with suspicious mail or packages.
Trained technicians will be available between 6 a-m and 9 p-md to answer questions and refer callers to agencies, departments or web sites for more information. The number: 1-800-550-5234. Residents with hearing impairments can receive information at 1-800-550-5281.
