Tuolumne County, CDF and Forest Service firefighters are working on a smoldering pile of forest debris and wood chips this morning.

The fire along the side of the roadway on Highway 108 at Jenness Park in the Cold Springs area was first reported just before 8 this morning. Firefighters say the large debris pile was generating its own heat, causing the material to burn.

Watch for fire equipment at the scene there this morning trying to get it fully extinguished.
