Painter Evan McKnight, of D & D Painting of Merced, obviously isn´t afraid of heights. The lofty painter put a coat of paint on the Tuolumne County Courthouse clock tower dome Thursday morning.

It wasn´t an easy task. McKnight was suspended more than 100-feet above Yaney Street in a small basket hung beneath a crane. Using a paint roller and a long extension pole, he carefully leaned from the basket to apply the fresh coat of tile red paint to the dome.
