A brush fire off High Meadow Drive in the hilly Apple Valley area of Sonora is now contained.

The blaze that broke out shortly after 2 p.m. this afternoon has been held by firefighters to two-acres. Containment was announced at 3:05 p.m. by fire officials.

A firefighting helicopter was pulling water from Phoenix Lake to battle the blaze in a remote area of the Quail Ridge Ranch.
