My Flat Panel screen just stopped working what should I do?

Question: My Flat Panel screen just stopped working what should I do?

Answer: First, check the cords and make sure they are all plugged in. Check and make sure it is ‘powered on’ or that you pressed the power button. Try unplugging the power to the flat panel for an hour and then plugging it back in. Then try turning it on again. If it works fine, your flat panel may be failing so you might want to look into repairs or a replacement. If it does not work at all and never turns on, you will want to replace it. If it works only when you first turn it on but, when your normal icon screen should be displayed it goes dark, you may need to adjust your resolution.
To adjust your resolution: since you can not see your screen, you will need to start your computer in VGA mode. When your computer is starting up, tap the F8 key at the top of the keyboard before it says “loading windows.” Then using your arrow keys, scroll down and select VGA mode and hit the Enter key. Once your computer starts, go into the display control panel and adjust the resolution to 800×600. Press ok. Reboot your computer like normal and you should be able to see your screen again. A note of caution: Before adjusting the resolution higher, check with the screen manufacturer to find out what your max setting is so you don’t adjust it above what your monitor can handle. If you don’t feel comfortable with these steps, please contact a computer technician for further assistance.
