Cheryl Lyrin Baker, born August 3, 1956 Grass Valley, CA died Sunday, December 8, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer for over 4.5 years. Her battle ended with her husband and daughter at her side. A memorial service will be held and Pastor Nate Levering will officiate.

Cheryl was born on August 3, 1956, in Grass Valley, CA to Jack and Shirley Montgomery. On April 11, 1976, she married the love of her life, Dave Baker, in Grass Valley.

She was a loyal wife and dedicated mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was being a mother, and then later, a grandmother. She loved supporting and cheering on her children in sports throughout their childhoods. Her love of Jesus and living a life that pleased him was her ultimate life goal. She desired to share her faith with others by setting an example of a Christ-led life.

She was often said to be her mother’s right hand, a helpful and loving daughter, and a role model for her siblings. This led into her being a guiding light for her own children. In fact, many people called her “mom” and saw her as a caring, trusting mother-figure. Everyone who knew Cheryl knew they had a trustworthy friend, a valuable confidant, and a prayer warrior. She was cherished by many people beyond her family.

In addition to her husband, Dave, survivors include her father Jack Montgomery, her children Nate Baker and his wife Cassie, Nick Baker, Kayla Acierto and her husband Antero, Kyle Baker and his wife Allie, her brothers John Montgomery and Gordon Montgomery, and her sisters Brenda Shipleyand Cindy Mullineaux, 7 grandchildren (with one on the way to make 8) Hayden, Blakely, and baby Baker, Raelynn Baker, Scarlett and Everly Acierto, and Maddie and Jaxon Baker.

She is loved by many and will be missed by all.
