At his request, no services will be held for George David Pollock,

85, who died June 14, 2013 at his residence, Foothill Village, Angels Camp.

He lived here in Calaveras County since building his mountain home in Avery in 1959 and moved here in 1969 from San Francisco.

He worked as a window washer on some of the tallest buildings in the city. He worked on several projects such as the construction of the Spicers Dam and Melones Dam. George served in the US Navy and crewed on the USS Henderson as a gunners mate. He was honorably discharged in 1947 as Seaman 2nd Class and received a commendation from President Harry S Truman.

George is survived by his 2 children, Shirley Harmuth, Avery and George Pollock, Avery. Also, Eleanor Gray(sister) Florida, Mary Ann Crosby(sister) Penn, Patrica Pollock(sister) Penn, Jim Pollock(brother, deceased) Penn, Margaret Grego(sister,deceased) Penn, Robert Pollock( brother, deceased) Penn, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many great,great, great grandkids !!!
