4 Dogs Saved In Copperopolis House Fire

Sponsored by:

Copperopolis, CA — Firefighters found themselves in a hairy situation Tuesday as they found four dogs trapped inside a house fire Tuesday.

Copperopolis Fire Protection District Captain Tony Powers says the dogs were discovered in an unoccupied home that was ablaze on Little John Road.

He says the dogs were saved and moved to the basement while firefighters fought to contain the fire.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says damage is estimated at $275,000.

CDF Captain Mark Steward says the fire started in an upstairs bedroom and spread to the ceiling.

The tenants of the home returned while firefighters were still on the scene. Powers says the dogs are safe with their owners now.
