Young Woman Involved In This Morning’s Fatal Accident

Angels Camp, CA — Her name has not been released, but authorities are confirming that it was a 30-year-old Angels Camp woman who was fatally injured in a car accident Monday morning.
The woman was driving a 1994 Mercury Sable eastbound on Highway 4 near Batten Road when for unknown reasons the car went off the roadway and struck a tree.
The California Highway Patrol says the left front of the vehicle hit the tree, which was 12 feet down an embankment.
A resident on Batten Road called 911 to report the collision.
The woman was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
