Calaveras Election Gears Up

San Andreas, CA — Monday in Calaveras County was the first day to take out papers to run in the November election.

Races include two Angels Camp City Council Members, and various director positions on school districts, the Mark Twain Health Care District, Appaloosa Road Community Services District, and San Andreas Veterans Memorial District. Also up for election are the Angels Camp City Clerk and City Treasurer.

The nomination period is July 16 to August 11.

Angels Camp City Council Member George “Curly” Middleton was in the clerk´s office Monday taking out papers to run for another 4-year term.

Also in the November election will be the runoff for District 5 county supervisor between incumbent Supervisor Victoria Erickson and challenger Russ Thomas.

The election will take place Tuesday, November 7. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
