Yosemite National Park, CA — 24 year old Michael Gresham, stationed at the C.C.C.´s San Luis Obispo Center, was found dead Friday halfway down the Royal Arches wall north of the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Gresham was declared missing by members of his C.C.C. trail crew when he did not arrive at their new basecamp Thursday.

A fullscale search was launched immediately utilizing both national park service ground search crews and helicopters from the Highway Patrol and the California Army National Guard. The cause of death remains under investigation.

Gresham had been working on the trail crew in Yosemite for nearly three months as part of the C.C.C.´s elite Backcounty Trails Program. He had been a C.C.C. Corp member for nearly three years, having attained the rank of Specialist.
