Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the class of 2006/2007 Leadership Tuolumne County.
Leadership Tuolumne County is a community-wide effort to ensure a solid base of informed and effective leaders to meet and address the present and future challenges, which face our county.
The curriculum consists of an opening weekend retreat and eight full day sessions. Organizers say participants are provided a background and insight into the most pressing issues facing Tuolumne County.
The program is now in its 13th year and has graduated more than 170 residents. Applications can be picked-up at the Chamber office at 222 S. Shepherd St. in Sonora between the weekday hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
A selection committee carefully reviews each application and then makes recommendations to a board of directors. Criteria for the selection include a desire to develop leadership skills, an involvement in the community and, a willingness to invest the time required for active participation.
The two-day retreat, all class days, materials and graduation is included in the $750 tuition fee. The deadline for applications is August 11th. For more information call 532-4212.
