Jamestown Man Recovering From Broken Hip After Assault

Sonora, CA — A Jamestown man has a broken hip and two Tuolumne County residents are facing several charges after an altercation Monday afternoon.

The Sonora Police Department says an officer and emergency personnel responded to Coffill Park at 4:20pm, regarding 49-year-old Ricky Ballard´s broken hip.

While the officer was at the scene, he was contacted by a witness who said that Ballard was assaulted by a man with a knife regarding a money matter.

The witness gave the officer a detailed description of the responsible party, along with a description of the woman with him.

Officers later located 41-year-old David Bryan and 40-year-old Rebekah Huber-Ornabum in the swimming pool of the Sonora Gold Lodge.

Huber-Ornabum was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for vehicle theft and possession of a controlled substance. Bryan was booked for battery with great bodily injury, criminal threats, brandishing a deadly weapon and violation of parole.
