Identity Of Man Fatally Injured Friday Released

Sonora, CA — The Jamestown man killed during a multiple vehicle accident Friday afternoon on Highway 108 near the Yosemite Junction has been identified as 25 year old Ryan Black.

The Highway Patrol says according to witnesses, Black´s right rear tire blew out at 2:30, causing his Ford Ranger to fishtail and cross over into the oncoming lane.

Reports indicate Black hit 28 year old Jason Clarke´s Ford F-250 truck head on, killing Black instantly.

CHP officials say 41 year old April Murphy´s car was also struck by Black´s truck, disabling it.

Clarke and Murphy suffered minor injuries. Highway 108 was closed for several hours, causing major afternoon delays until after 6:00pm.
