Arnold, CA — Highway 4 was shut down Saturday morning for the annual Independence Day Parade in Arnold.
The theme of this year´s parade celebrated the recent designation of the Ebbetts Pass corridor as a National Scenic Byway. Appropriately, former Calaveras Council of Governments Executive Director George Dondero and his wife, Nancy, served as the Grand Marshals. Dondero was largely responsible for getting the byway designated.
The 10AM parade was sponsored by the Greater Arnold Business Association. Special guests this year included the Army National Guard Band from Sacramento, which put on a concert immediately following the parade.
Highway 4 was closed from 9:15 to 11:45 from Country Club Drive to Moran Road. The parade ended this year at the Cedar Center.
