Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — If you witnessed a number of law enforcement agencies in the area of Longeway Rd. near Lucky Strike just prior to the noon hour Saturday, there was a good reason why.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department, with an assist from the C.H.P., learned through an anonymouns tip that 45 year old Scott Brian Wales of Campbell, CA, wanted on three outstanding warrants for felony stalking and domestic violence in Santa Clara County, may be located at 22101 Longeway Rd.

They had been unsuccessful in apprehending him Friday evening when they first learned from San Jose police that he might be in the area of South Creekside Drive where he has relatives. Lt. Dan Bressler of the Sheriff´s Department reports that Wales had threatened to shoot any law enforcement officer that approached him.

The sheriff´s SWAT team arrived shortly after 11:15 this morning at the Longeway Rd. address. Wales fired several shots from a shed on the property at 2:25. No one was injured. He was eventually taken into custody an hour and twenty minutes later. Wales was transported to Tuolumne General Hospital for treatment and then booked into the County Jail.

The lead negotiator for the Sheriff´s Department was Sgt. Matt Zelinsky.
