Sonora, CA — A Sonora man is facing several charges after an altercation with his roommates Wednesday night.

The Sonora Police Department responded to Hill St. in regards to someone yelling for help. When officers arrived, they were told that 25-year-old Nathan Sanz had assaulted his roommates.

Reports indicate Sanz felt they were going through his clothing and taking his vicodine prescription. Sanz charged one of the roommates and then punched the victim in the mouth once, causing the victim´s lip to split and bleed.

The roommate ran and grabbed the phone to call 911, but Sanz grabbed the phone cord and pulled the cord out of the wall. Sanz then grabbed the victim by the throat and pushed the victim against the wall with enough force to break a hole in the sheetrock.

Sanz then attempted to force the victim onto the bed, but the roommate was able to escape and leave the residence. Sanz was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for felony domestic battery and felony disabling a phone line.
