Click It Or Ticket Campaign Ends
Sonora, CA– After several days of the Click it or Ticket campaign, the Sonora Police Department says they will continue its enforcement of safety belt and child safety seat violations.
The special safety belt high-visibility enforcement mobilization which took place from May 22nd through June 4th, included a variety of increased enforcement and outreach activities to reach rural motorists. The Police Department issued a total of 66 citations to drivers and passengers for not wearing their safety belts or for child safety seat violations.
First time offenders can receive an $86.00 ticket with the price rising after that. Lieutenant Mark Stinson says they heard a variety of excuses during the campaign and that the Sonora police officers will be encouraged to continue enforcing the law.
