Columbia College Student Wins Scholarship

Columbia, CA — Columbia College student Leah Martin has been named as the sole Region 5 scholarship winner by the Extended Opportunities Programs and Services Association.
The association assists economically disadvantaged students. The Sonora native says she will use the $1,000 scholarship to go toward her education at Cal State-Stanislaus in 2007.
Her educational goal is to acquire a bachelor´s degree in psychology and untimately a master´s degree in marriage and family counseling.
Martin is hopeful of becoming a counselor along with serving as an advocate and educator against child abuse and making the public more aware of eating disorders which has been a part of her own personal life.
