Sonora, CA — Thousands of dollars are headed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association thanks to more than 2,500 motorcycles that cruised through the streets of Sonora Saturday.
The 12th annual Sierra Hope Ride was police-supported and started in Modesto.
At about 11:30am you could hear the highway rumbling as the bikes made their way to the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.
After the 50-mile ride to Sonora, the participants enjoyed a concert and BBQ.
MDA District Director Pat Roden says the money raised from the event stays in the area to help local residents who are living with neuromuscular diseases.
