Three Facing Charges After Shoplifting Incident
Sonora, CA — Two Jamestown men and a Sonora juvenile are facing several charges after being arrested at a local grocery store on Sunday.
The Sonora Police Department says officers responded to the store for a report of two shoplifters in custody.
Reports indicate 20 year old Jonathan Day and a 16 year old girl were attempting to steal alcohol.
19 year old Thomas Slate was seen watching his friends from a truck in the parking lot; he later admitted to authorities that he had driven them.
During a search of Slate´s truck, officers found a gun and ammunition to other firearms, as well as a large amount of hand tools.
As the investigation continued Monday, it was determined that the firearm and tools were stolen from Day´s father.
Slate and Day were booked into the County jail, and the juvenile was tuned over to the Probation Department.
