Flood Warning Remains In Effect For Merced River At Pohono Bridge
Yosemite National Park, CA — Because rainfall has been heavier than expected over the past 12 hours, the Merced River at Pohono Bridge is currently above flood stage and is forecast to reach near 11.5 feet later this morning.
Historically when forecast or observed stage at Pohono Bridge reached 10.5 feet, water tops the Swinging Bridge downstream from Chapel Meadow. Overflow from Woski Pond floods the access road (Northside Drive) leading out of the west entrance of the park.
Should the Pohono Bridge water level reach 11.5 feet as predicted, the sewage pumping relay station at the North Pines campground will become flooded.
