Firefighters Fill Their Boots For Jerry’s Kids
Mountain Ranch, CA — Firefighters from the Central Calaveras Fire Protection District will be in Mountain Ranch Saturday collecting money in their boots for Muscular Dystrophy.
The Greater Northern California Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association has organized the event in 13 communities throughout the area.
Firefighters are some of the association´s largest supporters.
The association works to provide treatment and find cures for neuromuscular diseases. The money raised Saturday will help the chapter´s 1,000 registered clients in the Central Valley and Gold Country.
Other towns taking part in the effort are Modesto, Stockton , Turlock, Linden, Manteca, Lodi, and Tracy.
Last year´s “Fill The Boot” in Mountain Ranch netted $754.
Firefighters will be posted at the intersection of Mountain Ranch Road and Garabaldi Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Motorists are asked to pay a voluntary toll and put it inside the boot.
