Junior Miss Calaveras Contest Saturday

Angels Camp, CA — The Junior Miss Calaveras Pageant and Junior Frog Jump will be held at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Altaville/Melones Fire Department in Angels Camp.
10 applicants are vying for the crown of Junior Miss. The competition is open to 8th grade students throughout the county. They will be judged on beauty, personality, poise and charm, and raffle ticket sales.
Fire Chief Tom Spence says there are girls competing from all parts of the county.
The Junior Frog jumps cost $1 per jump. The winner automatically advances to the May 21 finals during the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubliee.
The fair begins May 17 and runs through Sunday.
