Mother Lode Senior Class Ahead Of Ca When It Comes To Exit Exam
Sonora, CA — State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O´Connell says one in ten high school seniors haven´t yet passed the high school exit exam to graduate on time.
However in the Mother Lode, the numbers look much better. Summerville High School Principal Dave Urquhart says only one senior out of more than 100 at his school is awaiting the results of the test.
The Department of Education released new numbers today showing how many students passed the math and English exam when they took it in February.
Nearly 47,000 seniors still haven´t passed. But Sonora High School Principal Terry Clark says students in Tuolumne County have always performed above standards.
There are only four seniors out of 300, who still have to pass the test. Clark says they will get another chance to take the test this month.
